What is the largest capacity external hard drive that a Wii will accept?

I have a 2TB external and I want to put lots of stuff on there for my wii that I am going to get. I would like to know if it is going to recognize it. If not then what is the largest capacity external hard drive that I could plug into the usb ports? Thanks a bunch!!!
