For those opposed to capital punishment does the Baby P case persuade you to reconsider?

Not only have the mother and step-father murdered the baby boy, the step-father raped a 2 year old and together with his brother tortured his elderly grandmother.

Now not only have they been given paltry sentences but it looks like we have to pay for their identities to be changed. Why should they have an identity change? Even capital punishment is too good for these deplorable people but it would go some way.
