What would be reccomended in restoring a Citreon Berlingo which will not start, off the road 2 years?

Hi,
After 2 years of not being driven I decided to try to start my Berlingo, when the key is put in the ignition no noise is made and the car engine does not start. I would put this down to a dead battery, however I am unsure how to fix this problem, also i would love to have reccomendations for any other possible faults which may need to be restored before taking the car on the road.
