How do you trade pokemon from ruby version to pearl version?

I have pokemon pearl and ruby. I want to trade my pokemon from ruby version to pearl version. How do i do this without having to use any internet or Wi-Fi connection? And do i need another DS because the link cable that I used for the gameboy SP does not fit into the DS?
